Bangladesh today confirmed five more deaths from the novel coronavirus and 552 new cases of infection testing 5,827 samples in the last 24 hours.
With this, the death toll from the deadly virus rose to 175 and the number of total infections stood at 8,790.
“Among dead patients, three were male and two female. They all were residents of Dhaka,” Additional Director General of Health Directorate Professor Dr Nasima Sultana made the disclosure during a virtual briefing today.
“6,193 samples were collected in last 24 hours and 5,827 were tested. A total of 76,066 samples have been tested so far,” Dr Nasima added.
Some three patients cured in lats 24 hours and a total of 177 patients recovered so far.
Currently, 69,094 people are in quarantine, including 1543 newly added, after 121,349 were released till date, according to the latest data provided during the virtual health bulletin.
