The country today reported 16 more deaths from the novel coronavirus and 930 new cases of infection in the last 24 hours.
With this, the death toll from the deadly virus rose to 314 and the number of total infections stood at 20,995 . Some 235 patients recovered during this time.
“All of the dead patients are male. 12 of them are from Dhaka division and two each from Chattogram and Rangpur divisions. Ten of the deceased were aged above 50,” Additional Director General of Health Directorate Professor Dr Nasima Sultana made the disclosure during a virtual briefing today.
“Some 6,501 samples were collected in last 24 hours and 6,782 were tested at 41 PCR labs across country,” Dr Nasima said.
Some 235 patients recovered during this time, increasing the total recovered patients to 4,117.
Currently, 48,141 people are quarantined across the country – including 2,510 newly-quarantined individuals. A total of 188,773 people have completed their quarantine couse.
