Coronavirus: Bangladesh reports 3,243 new cases, 45 more deaths
The country today (Friday) confirmed 45 more deaths from the novel coronavirus and 3,243 new cases of infection in the last 24 hours.
With this, the death toll from the deadly virus rose to 1,388 and the number of total infections stood at 1,05,535. Some 2,741 patients cured during this time.
DGHS Additional Director General (administration) Prof Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure joining the daily health bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) online on Friday.
A total of 15,045 samples have been tested at 61 authorized coronavirus testing labs across the country over the last 24 hours. Of these, 3,243 have been diagnosed with coronavirus, bringing the total number of positive cases to 105,535 she said.
Besides, 45 more coronavirus infected patients have died in the last 24 hours increasing the total death toll to 1388. Among them 32 were males and 13 were females.
Meanwhile, 20,781 more people have recovered from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 42,945 the health official said.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of Friday afternoon, a total of 8,595,061 people have been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 456,650 while 4,546,545 patients have recovered, according to worldometer’s data.
