Coronavirus: Bangladesh reports 38 more deaths, 3,480 new cases
In the country 38 patients died from Covid-19 over the last 24 hours as of Monday, taking the death toll to 1,502. Besides, 3,480 more people tested positive for the virus, which makes 115,786 confirmed cases in total.
DGHS Additional Director General (administration) Prof Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure joining the daily health bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) through online on Monday.
A total of 15,555 samples have been tested at 62 authorised coronavirus testing labs across the country over the last 24 hours. Of these, 3480 have been diagnosed with coronavirus, bringing the total number of positive cases to 115786, she said.
Meanwhile, 1678 more people have recovered from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 46,735, the health official said.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of Monday afternoon, a total of 9,060,878 people have been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 9,060,878 while 4,847,413 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
