Bangladesh has recorded the highest single day coronavirus cases as 1,202 people have tested positive in the last 24 hours. With the latest figure, the confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country have jumped to 20,065.
Meanwhile, the country also recorded 15 more deaths from the deadly disease over the same period, taking the number of fatalities to 298.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), came up with the disclosure in the daily online health bulletin at the Management Information System (MIS) in the afternoon.
She said 512 more patients recovered from Covid-19 disease in the last 48 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 3,882.
Prof Nasima said 8,582 samples were tested in 41 labs across the country in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 160512 tested in the country.
Meanwhile, the global death toll from coronavirus has crossed 3 lakh to 303,351 as of Friday morning.
It has so far infected 4,525,103 people globally, according to Worldometer.
Of the currently infected 2,518,010 patients, 2,472,450 are in mild condition, which is 98 percent, while 45,560 or 2 percent are in serious condition. So far, 1,703,742 people have recovered from COVID-19.
