US-Bangla Airlines to begin Dhaka-Colombo flights from January

The US-Bangla Airlines has announced that they will start operating flights on Dhaka-Colombo route from January 22 next year.

The private airliner will also operate three flights a week on Dhaka-Male-Dhaka route from November 19.

“We are going to increase flights, frequency and add new domestic and international routes with an aim to strengthen the country’s air service,” US-Bangla Airlines General Manager (Public Relations) Md Kamrul Islam said on Monday night.

He further added that the company was planning to add seven more brand new aircrafts – three Boeing 737-800s and four ATR-72-600s — to the fleet.

US-Bangla Airlines started its journey in 2014 with only two aircrafts; now they have 14. The private airliner is also preparing to start direct flights to New York in 2023.

The US-Bangla authorities have decided to introduce a self check-in facility at all domestic routes for the first time in the country at the end of this year.

Currently, they have a separate self check-in facility for the “frequent flyers” at Hazrat Shahjalal international airport (HSIA).,
